Penn soccer players rake in weekly honors
None of the Penn women's soccer players had defeated Princeton before Saturday's Homecoming game. Junior Katy Cross almost single-handedly ensured that the Quakers crossed that unenviable fact off their to-do lists.
Cross, Penn's offensive machine, tallied all three of the Quakers' goals in their 3-2 victory over the Tigers, earning her the title of Ivy League Player of the Week.
On the men's side, junior David Maier was named Philadelphia Soccer 7 Player of the Week after scoring two goals and dishing three assists in the Quakers' 7-1 victory over Saint Joseph's.

Veldman honored for special teams play
After burying all three of his field goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries against Princeton, senior Peter Veldman was named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week.
Sophomore Casey Edgar earned the award two weeks ago and senior Jake Perskie the week previous.
