Burglary

Feb. 23 -- A male University student reported a burglary from the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity between 1 and 2 a.m. The student's room door was kicked in, and a Dell laptop, Nikon camera with lenses, X-Box and 40 DVDs were taken. The items were valued at $6,200. Pi Lambda Phi is located at 3914 Spruce Street.Feb. 21 -- A male University student reported a burglary from his off-campus home located at 4300 Spruce Street. The student's rear door was pried open, and a Hewlett-Packard computer and web camera were taken. The items were valued at $2,100.

Theft

Feb. 27 -- A female affiliated with the University reported the theft of her purse from the 200 block of 41st Street at approximately 9:10 a.m. Two male juveniles, ages 14 and 15, were arrested in connection with the theft, and the purse was recovered.Feb.26 -- Larry Dickson was arrested for the theft of a pocketbook from Presbyterian Hospital, located at 39th and Market streets. A female employee at the hospital reported the theft at 1:45 p.m., and security guards recovered the purse from Dickson. The pocketbook contained a cell phone, wallet and credit cards.Feb. 25 -- A female affiliated with the University reported the theft of a wallet from Van Pelt Library between approximately 2 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 25. The wallet was taken from her coat pocket and contained miscellaneous papers and identification. Van Pelt Library is located at 3420 Walnut Street.Feb. 23 -- A female University student reported the theft of her purse on 36th and Sansom streets at approximately 11:40 p.m. A male suspect dragged her to the ground before taking the purse, but the alleged incident was not classified as an assault, University Police said. The suspect fled in a gold sedan driven by a second suspect. The purse contained a wallet with credit cards and identification. The items were valued at $150.Feb. 21 -- A male University employee reported the theft of a briefcase from the Nursing Education Building. The briefcase was taken from his office. The Nursing Education Building is located at 420 Guardian Drive.Feb. 21 -- The theft of a Nikon digital camera from Huntsman Hall was reported. The camera was valued at $770. Huntsman Hall is located at 3730 Walnut Street.Feb. 21 -- John Overbeck, a 55-year-old male, was arrested for the retail theft of $42 worth of steak from the Fresh Grocer. The theft occurred at approximately 3 p.m. The Fresh Grocer is located at 4001 Walnut Street.Feb. 21 -- A female not affiliated with the University reported the theft of a purse, keys and wallet containing cash and credit cards. The items were taken from her car located at Lot 5 behind the Palestra after a forced entry through the door. The items were valued at $105. The theft occurred approximately between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. All information was obtained from the University Police logbook. -- Brooke Daley
