Since the Hutchinson Gymnasium pool will remain closed until next week, students will not be able to swim on campus tomorrow, Wargo said. "The city main feeding the building has a large crack in it, so they have to shut off all the water to the building," said Wargo, noting the work should take about eight hours. Meanwhile, Physical Plant is waiting for the materials to temporarily repair the Hutchinson Gymnasium pool, which has been closed since August 15, according to Wargo. The materials should arrive by Friday and the work probably will take about two days, making the Hutch pool operational by next week, Wargo said. Larry Lauchle, associate athletic director for facilities, said last month that the pool's filtering system had broken down, leading to chlorine leakage between the pool's bricks. The Hutch pool will close again next summer so workers can complete repairs on the 70-year-old facility. – Scott Lanman
