Well, it's fall again, and those Mask and Wig boys are back with their annual free show. Mask and Wig, the noted male music and comedy troupe, is offering a free performance this Sunday at 6:30 in the Zellerbach Auditorium. Expect cross-dressing a-plenty as the Wiggers rehash favorite bits from their fall shows of the past 11 years. Directed by Michael Shames, the free show is Wig at their best (or at least most familiar). All the numbers have appeared in previous shows. "One of the main reasons we have our free show is to gain awareness from the freshmen," said M&W; chairman and College senior Scott Cunningham. "We like to offer an opportunity for freshmen who don't know what we do to see us and become interested. Hopefully they can know whether or not we're a group for them." Mask and Wig performs a fall show each year, comprised of various bits and a handful of musical numbers with a format similar to Saturday Night Live. Their spring show, traditionally, is of a more musical nature. Auditions for Mask and Wig will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Houston Hall auditorium. Dan Bisbee, the fall show director, will be in charge. For those interested in Mask and Wig, there is a Wig hotline (898-9999, then type 'WIG') which will list upcoming events. "People interested in Wig can leave messages, and RAs can book groups for the free show to get good seats and stay together," Sternlieb explained.
