Gerrity, a leading authority on business change and the strategic use of information technology, is the second Wharton dean to come from the private sector. Founder and chief executive officer of the Index Group, a consulting firm in business reengineering, Gerrity was also president of CSC Consulting, a branch of Computer Sciences Corporation. Gerrity was a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford and earned his doctorate in management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Gerrity also has an athletic side -- he has run in the Boston Marathon several times.
