Actor Penn Badgley will visit Penn for a student-organized event hosted by the Social Planning and Events Committee next week.
The April 7 question and answer session will take place at Zellerbach Theater in Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at 7:00 p.m. and will be moderated by relationship coach Nura Mowzoon. The event — now sold out — was announced by SPEC’s Connaissance and Film branches on Wednesday.
Badgley is best known for his roles in the television series “Gossip Girl” and “You,” as well as the 2010 film “Easy A.” According to a SPEC social media post, the event is open to the Penn community — doors are set to open at 6:30 p.m., and PennCards are required for entry.
The event sold out the same day tickets were released. SPEC clarified that seating for the event will be first come, first serve, and that a ticket does not guarantee admission due to limited capacity. According to the organization, doors will close shortly after the event begins.
According to SPEC Connaissance’s website, the branch is the “premier group on campus tasked with bringing keynote speakers to Penn’s campus.”
“At its core, Connaissance is dedicated to supporting events that will educate, challenge, and entertain the students of Penn,” the website reads.
Recent speakers hosted by the group include Randall Park, Haley Lu Richardson, and Tyler James Williams, as well as earlier appearances by Spike Lee, John Mulaney, and Keke Palmer.
The programming typically features moderated discussions that allow students to directly engage with speakers to discuss their work and experiences.
