For Penn baseball and softball, Ivy League weekends are action packed marathons of excitement. A lot can change in four games in two days, so any weekday action is often a welcome break from the chaos of the conference title races. This Wednesday, Penn baseball and softball get such a chance.

If a person has not flung open the window of a campus building to angrily yell “YOU HATE ME!” at you, while you are still reeling from invitations to scheduled public lynchings of African American freshmen and marching peacefully to raise awareness, then welcome to the reality of race relations in the era of 45!

“I am continually amazed by the curiosity, the enthusiasm and the genuine desire for learning on the part of the Penn medical students,” professor of clinical medicine David Jaffe said. 

I was struck by something Alec Baldwin said near the end of his talk at Penn on Friday. When asked what advice he would give to college students, Baldwin immediately replied that we ought to travel, to explore the world when we are single, young and free.

What was once known as Film at the International House Philadelphia is now called Lightbox Film Center. The freshly dubbed center remains part of IHP but will exercise greater independence under its new name.

Announced as one of the winners of the President’s Engagement Prizes last week, the group of students behind Lanzado Lideres — a bilingual, community-based program for high school students in South Philadelphia — will focus on developing the project over the course of the next year. 

The weekend was special for the Quakers, having two of the three finalists, Swirbalus and Graham, fourth on floor and sixth on beam respectively, place in the finals. Nonetheless, for Kyra Levi, it was still one of the most memorable parts of the weekend for her to see her teammates rise to the top.

The turn of the calendar from 2016 to 2017 brought a change in leadership that threatened to throw a once-united community into anarchy.

Students with family income under $100,000 will receive free tuition to CUNY or SUNY schools per the Excelsior Scholarship.

Following the executive orders of the immigration ban on the entry of refugees from Muslim-majority countries, some universities announced that they will be providing free summer housing for international students impacted by the orders.
