Wellness at Penn previously recommended the new boosters, which are currently only produced by Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax, for all members of the Penn community.

The family of Katz — a Penn student with a heart condition who died last September — filed a lawsuit against Panera last week alleging that Katz died after consuming Panera’s Charged Lemonade.

On the day of her passing, Katz consumed a 30-ounce Charged Lemonade from a Panera at 200 S. 40th St. and went into cardiac arrest hours later.

The annual clinic, which offered free flu vaccines to all members of the Penn community, was hosted from Oct. 4 to Oct. 6 in Gimbel Gymnasium in the Pottruck Health and Wellness Center. 

The event provided a variety of resources like free screening and tests, specifically geared toward promoting men’s health.

Other states with detected samples of the variant are Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

The flu clinic — which provides free vaccines to all members of the Penn community — will be hosted in Gimbel Gymnasium in the Pottruck Health and Wellness Center from Oct. 4 to Oct. 6.

The new boosters are designed to target the Omicron variant XBB.1.5. and similar strains, the current dominant strain of the virus.
