Fall 2013 Undergraduate Assembly Elections


Anyone who has almost been run down by a bike on Locust Walk will appreciate the new signs reminding everyone they cannot ride their bicycles on the core of campus from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Office of Admissions has begun actively communicating with high school sophomores in an effort to broaden their knowledge of the University - a strategy higher education experts say has been developing at U.S. colleges over the past decade.

Arts and the City year puts spotlight on cultural activities

The Arts & the City theme centers around art and culture — both on Penn’s campus and in Philadelphia — and involves a variety of organizations, ranging from the University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology to student groups such as the Penn Art Club and the Center for Public Health Initiatives.

The bus, which stopped at the corner of 36th and Walnut streets for two hours yesterday morning, has been to all 50 states, said C-SPAN spokesman Rodee Schneider. The bus and its crew are part of C-SPAN’s charge to “try to connect with folks across the country,” Schneider said.

As part of a new Undergraduate Assembly initiative, Penn Dining agreed to supply free boxed breakfasts for observant Muslims during Ramadan, which started on Aug. 21 and will end Saturday.

What's better than 14 flavors of frozen yogurt? 14 free flavors of frozen yogurt. The Penn community will have the opportunity to try all 14 for free all day Wednesday, Sept. 23, when Sprinkles Frozen Yogurt celebrates the opening of its second Philadelphia area store at 3606 Chestnut St.

In an effort to reconcile its budget gap, Philadelphia may be forced to adopt Mayor Michael Nutter's updated five-year plan (Plan C) - dubbed the "doomsday" budget - this Friday.
