In Harris’s remarks, which took place hours before an assassination attempt on Trump in western Pennsylvania, she called the 2024 election the “most existential, consequential, and important” election “of our lifetime.”

The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, killed one rally attendee and injured two others before being shot and killed by Secret Service agents. The act is being investigated as an assassination attempt.
