Step dancing or “stepping” is a historical tradition of black fraternities and sororities, dating back to the mid-1900s. It is often performed along with songs and chants as a way to celebrate the “crossing over” into membership of these organizations. Stepping has also been incorporated into other Greek organizations such as Lambda Sigma Upsilon — a Latino fraternity.


	Widener Lecture Hall is part of phase two of the museum’s three-part renovation plan. The hall will now be a multi-function space.

Set to officially open on May 10, the completion of the Widener Lecture Hall marks the end of the second phase of the Penn Museum of Archeology and Anthropology’s $15 million renovations of its west wing, which began in 2010.

As the school year comes to an end and Career Services begins analyzing this year’s data for on-campus recruiting, the “Class of 2013 has had a very successful recruitment year,” Director of Career Services Pat Rose said.

Penn’s yield this year increased about one percentage point to 64.3 percent, the highest since 2007. Of the 3,785 applicants admitted this admissions cycle, 2,432 have already indicated their intention to enroll, surpassing the school’s target class of 2,420, Dean of Admissions Eric Furda said.
