The University's review of hiring and admissions practices, originally slated to be finalized this fall, has been delayed indefinitely because of Faculty Senate concerns about requiring faculty hires to disclose criminal backgrounds. A Faculty Senate committee is in the midst of discussing the possible ramifications of a self-disclosure question, which would potentially be posed to all prospective faculty members.

One team stands in the way of Princeton going undefeated in Ivy League play this season: the Quakers. Although the League title is out of its reach, Penn's volleyball team (17-8, 10-3) still has plenty to play for tonight when it hosts Princeton in its season finale at 7 p.m. at the Palestra.

An AlliedBarton security guard exposed himself to a female student after he escorted her home Monday night, Division of Public Safety officials said yesterday. The guard offered to escort the student from 38th and Sansom streets to her house, near 41st and Locust streets, at about 9:00 p.

By 2010, a new fitness center, three full-length fields, Palestra Green, 12 additional tennis courts and a new softball stadium will invigorate the eastern edge of Penn's campus. That's only the beginning of Penn's three-phase facilities campaign, though.

Last week, the Roots gave Penn students a fantastic show. The concert was sponsored by SPEC-TRUM, a branch of the Social Planning and Events Committee that organizes events geared toward the minority community on campus. I am not ashamed to say that, as a female at Penn, I fit quite neatly into several aspects of the "Penn girl" stereotype: I drink coffee from Bucks, eat salads from Gia, work out exclusively indoors and rely heavily on these luxuries to make it neatly and efficiently through the rush of my daily life.

The annual Harvard-Yale rivalry to end the football season is so old that it's known simply as "The Game." But since Yale and Harvard both kept their perfect league records intact last Saturday, the stage is set for the biggest Game in decades. On Saturday, the rivals will face off for the League championship at the Yale Bowl in an atmosphere that should be as bowl-like as one could find in the Football Championship Subdivision.

With meetings getting increasingly shorter, the Undergraduate Assembly is trying to improve efficiency during meetings while still addressing a wide range of issues. Some topics from last Sunday's meeting include: n The UA Housing Committee is working with Housing and Conference Services to improve the housing-application process.

The guys here at Penn are excellent cry babies, ready to pout at any given moment. "The dining hall food stinks; I didn't get an A," they cry. "The elevators are slow; I miss my maid; the great unwashed frighten me; boo-hoo." But there's one particular complaint I hear over and over again: The girls here are revolting.

When Andy Anderson is a farmer, he's also a teacher, a salesperson and a cashier. The manager of Pennypack Farms in Horsham, Pa., Anderson both grows produce and runs educational sessions about sustainable living. He also brings his wares to the farmers' market in Clark Park every week, part of a rising trend of farmers' markets held both in the Philadelphia region and nationwide.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation donated a five-year, $3.5-million research grant to the African-American Collaborative Obesity Research Network. AACORN, based at the School of Medicine, will use the money to conduct community-based research to reduce obesity among black children and adolescents.
