Assault:
Feb. 3: At about 7:25 p.m., on the 3900 block of Market Street, a woman reported that a person she knew assaulted and injured her. The juvenile suspect was arrested.
Feb. 5: A confidential case of assault was reported.
DUI:
Feb. 3: At about 2:54 a.m., on the 4100 block of Chestnut Street, an unaffiliated man was seen sleeping in the driver’s seat of a car with the engine running. There was an open bottle of alcohol visible in the car, and the driver had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and an odor of alcohol on his breath. The 31-year-old suspect was arrested and identified as Justin Charles.
Disorderly Conduct:
Feb. 5: At 300 University Ave. at about 1:35 p.m., a man was asked to leave the area posted with a sign indicating "No Loitering." He became combative and refused to leave, which caused an alarm and a crowd to gather. The 49-year-old unaffiliated male, identified as Mark Casen, received a citation.
Feb. 6: At about 3:28 p.m. at Fresh Grocer, located at 4001 Walnut Street, a man was warned by store staff that he was not permitted inside the store. He proceeded to enter the premise and cause a disturbance. The 49-year-old unaffiliated male was arrested and identified as Edward Thomas.
Fire Incident:
Feb. 6: At Harrison College House at about 12:32 a.m., an unknown object caught fire on the electric burners of a cooking range. The fire was extinguished before the Philadelphia Fire Department arrived. No damage was caused, and residents were allowed to continue occupying the building.
