Penn is having an identity crisis according to a new article published by The New Republic.
The article attempts to explore the relationship between the school's number one party school ranking by Playboy and its pre-professional culture. "A particular kind of status anxiety pervades even the party-going at Penn, turning a night out into a series of achievements: been to this party, seen that person," the author states after a night of party hopping on campus during Halloween.
This comes on the heels of an article published by The New Republic in July criticizing Ivy League culture.
The Daily Pennsylvanian's arts and culture magazine, 34th Street — whose issue on all things identity is coming out Thursday — is cited twice.
