H1N1 vaccine clinic to proceed as planned

Friday’s scheduled H1N1 vaccination clinic, previously pending the delivery of vaccine, will occur as planned, according to Matthew Waller, director of public affairs and communications for the Office of the Vice Provost for University Life.

The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ARCH building, located at 3601 Locust Walk.

There is no charge associated with the clinic. Students must present their PennCard to receive the vaccine.

Students that fit into the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s priority groups are encouraged to attend, Waller said.

Among those encouraged to get the vaccine are students younger than 24 years old, healthcare and emergency medical services personnel, students at higher risk of flu complications because of prior medical conditions, pregnant students and students that care for children younger than 6 years old.

The Student Health Service had originally planned to hold a clinic last Friday as well, but had to cancel that clinic due to a delay in vaccine shipment.

Two other clinics, scheduled for Nov. 20 and Dec. 4, are still listed as tentative.
