A man was robbed at gunpoint on the 3700 block of Ludlow Street on May 5, Division of Public Safety officials said.

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident.

The complainant, a 24-year-old male unaffiliated with the University, reported that several suspects approached him at about 10:45 p.m.

One man displayed a handgun and took $50 to $60 in cash from the victim.

The victim reported that the suspects then fled southbound through the Newman Center before being apprehended by Penn Police.

The men arrested in connection with the robbery are Robert Porter, 19, of the 600 block of 49th Street, and Antonio Gil, 21, of the 1900 block of Cedar Ave.

Neither Porter nor Gil is affiliated with the University.

In an unrelated incident, the University City Citizen's Bank was robbed Monday, Federal Bureau of Investigation officials said.

The robber entered the bank, located at 134 S. 34th St., at about 3:30 p.m. and approached the counter. He gave the teller a demand note and obtained an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured, and the robber did not display a weapon.

The FBI is still looking for the suspect. He is described as a black male in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.

The suspect has a dark complexion and a shaved head.

Anyone with information about the incident or suspect is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000.

In another separate incident, a man was wounded during an altercation on the steps of the 37th Street trolley stop yesterday morning.

At about 11:30 a.m., two male acquaintances got into a verbal argument at the stop, Penn and SEPTA police said.

One man struck the other with an undetermined sharp object and fled, DPS spokesman Jared Hupp said.

The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was treated for minor injuries to his arm.

Hupp said no arrests were reported in connection with the incident, and SEPTA spokesman Felipe Suarez said that, because the victim does not intend to press charges, no further investigation is planned.

In yet another unrelated incident, a man was arrested for allegedly pushing another man into a glass window at Radio Shack, located at 212 S. 40th St., on May 1.

Eric Jupina, 21, of Egg Harbor, N.J., was arrested by Penn Police in connection with incident. The complainant was a 20-year-old male unaffiliated with the University.

The incident occurred at about 2 a.m.

Jupina has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. He has been released after posting $2,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 2 at 8 a.m.
