Three Penn athletes competed at the NCAA Track and Field Championships last Thursday in Sacramento.
Running at the facilities of Sacramento State, senior Courtney Jaworski finished up his collegiate career. The two-time All-American crossed the line eighth in the 800m semifinal heat with a time of 149.39, which did not qualify him for the event's final race. Also failing to qualify was sophomore Stacy Kim. Competing at Nationals for the first time, she turned in a 4.22.82 effort in the 1,500m preliminary heat. That placed her at 11th in her heat and just 19th overall, but did set a new Penn record.
Junior Kyle Calvo wrapped up a stellar year of his own by winning 14th place in the nation in decathalon. He improved on several of his qualifying marks from earlier in the week, including the high jump and the 400m.
