Thursday, Shawn Trice became the second Penn assistant coach to assume a similar position at Temple in the last week.
Trice, who will join former co-worker Matt Langel under head coach Fran Dunphy, had worked for one year at Penn. He also played for the Quakers from 1991-95, helping the team to three straight undefeated Ivy League seasons.
"Shawn Trice made a tremendous impact on our staff at Penn in his first season and I am looking forward to him doing the same here at Temple," Dunphy said in a statement released by the Owls athletic department. "He is an extremely hard worker and has a good approach to the game."
Trice returned to the Penn program for the 2005-06 season after spending seven years working at the YMCA in his hometown of Detroit. After graduating, he also spent time playing professionally overseas, with stints in Sweden and Taiwan.
Dave Duke remains the only member of last year's Penn coaching staff who has not assumed another job.
