Pettinella to play in Big East at Cincinnati
Former Penn forward Ryan Pettinella finalized his transfer from the school on Tuesday when he submitted papers to the University of Cincinnati officially enrolling at the college.
The 6-foot-9 forward, who spent most of last season coming off the bench, will be ineligible next season for the Bearcats who will enter the Big East for the 2005-06 season due to NCAA rules. Pettinella will be eligible to play the following season.
Last season, the sophomore averaged 4.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 12.4 minutes per game while shooting 50% from the field. However, Pettinella struggled from the free throw line hitting only 43% of his foul shots.
