Before they could step onto the hardwood at the Palestra next fall, Penn recruits Brennan Votel and Kevin Egee had some more work to do at home.
Votel was named Player of the Year in Kentucky's ninth region and Division I conference by The Kentucky Post and second-team All-State by The Associated Press for his play at Covington Catholic High School. Votel averaged a double-double for the Colonels, the top team in Northern Kentucky for six straight weeks.
He also finished fifth in the voting for the prestigious Mr. Basketball award in Kentucky.
The 6-foot-3 Egee was named MVP of the Central League in Delaware County, Pa.
He averaged 16.6 points per game and finished his career at Ridley High School with over 1,200 career points.
