Crime Report (1/8/02):

Burglary

* Jan. 6 -- A University student reported that sometime between Dec. 23, 2001, and Jan. 6, unknown persons entered the student's residence on the 4000 block of Walnut Street and took a desktop computer, modem, phone and laptop computer, valued together at $4,399. The door to the secured residence had been forced open, and there was damage to the door frame and lock.

Theft

* Jan. 6 -- A male University student reported that when he returned from winter break at about 12:15 p.m., he found a walkman and an answering machine valued together at $350 missing from his room in the Quadrangle, located at 3700 Spruce Street.There was no sign of forced entry into the room.

* Jan. 6 -- Two male University students reported that when they returned from Winter Break, one student's two laptop computers and bicycle valued together at $6,900 were missing, and the other student's bicycle valued at $175 was missing. The two students had left their residence on the 4000 block of Walnut Street unsecured over the break.

* Jan. 5 -- A male University student reported that sometime between 1 and 2 p.m., a DVD player, a VCR and a stereo recorder, valued together at $725, were taken from inside the living room of his secured residence on the 3600 block of Locust Walk. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.
