Crime Report (1/10/02)

Theft

*Jan. 8 -- A male University employee observed two white males taking windows from the loading dock at 3620 Hamilton Street. The individuals then proceeded to load the windows, valued at $300, into a white pick-up truck before leaving the scene in that vehicle.

*Jan. 8 -- A woman affiliated with the University left her purse unattended in the fourth floor women's restroom of Logan Hall, located at 249 S. 36th Street. When she returned to the bathroom to retrieve the purse, it was still in the bathroom, but $400 in cash had been taken from it.

*Jan. 8 -- A female unaffiliated with the University reported that her wallet had been taken from her purse sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. near the 3700 block of Walnut Street. The wallet contained two credit cards and $50 in cash.

*Jan 8. -- An employee of the Presbyterian Hospital, located at 51 N. 59th Street, placed his wallet in a secured locker. When he returned to the locker, his wallet -- which had $500 in cash in it -- was missing.

*Jan. 8 -- Kenyatta Johnson, a black male staff member of the University of Pennsylvania was arrested after allegedly trying to pay for several items in the Penn Bookstore, located at 3600 Walnut Street, with a fraudulent check.

*Jan. 8 -- Anne Wembold, a 22-year old white female unaffiliated with the University, was arrested after she reportedly attempted to take several books out of the Penn Bookstore, located at 3600 Walnut Street. The four textbooks were valued at $400.
