President Sorensen says classes not canceled

Classes at The University of Alabama will not be canceled in the wake of the attacks on New York City and Washington D.C., university President Andrew Sorensen told The Crimson White Tuesday morning. Some professors have chosen to cancel individual classes but there is no university-wide cancellation.Approximately 150 students milled around the Ferguson Center and dozens of students watched television coverage of the breaking news on a large-screen television in Ferguson Theater.Students also gathered to watch at other campus locations, including Bidgood Hall, or anywhere there was a television. Sorensen talked to students at Ferguson for several minutes. Dr. Sybil Todd, vice president of student affairs, encouraged students to go into the theater to watch the events unfold.
