In the wake of the disasters in New York and Washington this morning, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) has gathered its forces to reach out to the entire student body.

According to CAPS Director Ilene Rosenstein, the counseling efforts will be twofold.

To start, Houston Hall has been designated a crisis communications hub, offering students e-mail portals, phone lines and 24-hour counseling, as well as an area for group discussion.

The second prong of CAPS' efforts has been outreach within the College House system, as counselors conduct sessions to train all resident advisors and graduate advisors in crisis counseling.

CAPS encourages all students who need support to freely contact these advisors.

CAPS will continue to be flexible in campus-wide requests for help, scheduling group counseling sessions as well as offering round-the-clock support to those in need.

CAPS' 24-hour number is 215-349-5490, though counselors are encouraging students to take advantage of the Houston Hall facility.
