Campus Crime Report: Thursday, July 6, 2000

Theft

*July 1 -- An employee of Steve and Barry's store, located at 3736 Spruce Street, reported that someone stole 15 t-shirts -- together valued at $80 -- and fled the store at 10:33 a. m. that day.

* June 30 -- A male University employee reported that six gas leaf blowers were stolen from a caged, secured area in Franklin Field between June 27 and 30. There were no signs of forced entry, and the items stolen were valued at approximately $1,000.

Driving Under the Influence

* July 2 -- At 4:14 a.m. a male unaffiliated with the University was stopped by police on the 4000 block of Spruce Street after allegedly hitting a traffic light with his car. He was later charged with driving under the influence.

Burglary

*July 3 -- A male unaffiliated with the University reported that someone broke into his 3923 Baltimore Avenue residence, taking a silver watch, calculator and other items of unknown value at 2:10 a.m. on July 3.

* July 3 -- A female University student reported that her 3927 Baltimore Avenue residence was broken into around 2:50 a.m. that morning. A laptop computer valued at $1000 was taken.

* July 3 -- Robert Noble was arrested after he allegedly broke into the 3938 Pine Street residence of a male student around. 4:14 a.m. Noble was captured and arrested by police at the residence, and police said he was also linked to the burglaries at 3927 and 3923 Baltimore Avenue.

* July 3 -- A female University employee reported that several items had been stolen from an office at 3611 Locust Walk between June 29 and July 3. Bookstore gift certificates, a Kodak digital camera, and a conference phone -- together valued at approximately $1900 -- were taken from a safe.

Assault

* July 3 -- A female University faculty member reported that as she was walking westbound on Walnut Street on July 3, a man struck her on the left side of her head with an unknown object. She did not sustain any injuries.
