A few weeks ago, the star of Princeton University's basketball squad was given a tough choice to make.

The decision he makes could have an impact on the Ivy success of the Penn men's basketball team for the next few years.

On June 5th, the Tigers' Chris Young was chosen in the third round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

So, you're asking yourself, how does Young's decision to play baseball affect the Quakers basketball team?

Well, should Young choose to sign a minor-league contract with the Pirates, he would no longer be eligible to play basketball, or any other sport, according to Ivy League rules.

Young, the Tigers' 6'10" 245 lb. pitching ace on the baseball field and go-to center on the hardwood, would be sorely missed by the Tigers.

A first team all-Ivy selection in baseball and basketball, Young is a dominant presence in both sports.

"His size is intimidating," Penn baseball coach Bob Seddon said. "He's got a good fastball, in the high 80s, and his curveball is getting better."

Young went 5-0 this past season and posted a 1.82 ERA as his Tigers won the Ivy championship and an NCAA tournament berth.
