Five-car accident shuts down Walnut The accident, which occurred sometime around 11:30 p.m. according to eyewitnesses, involved a PFD ambulance, two taxicabs, a Dodge Grand Caravan minivan and a Chrysler LeBaron. Police on the scene were unable to speculate as to an exact cause of the incident, though it was apparent that the five vehicles had collided. Glass and debris littered Walnut Street, which was shut down from 33rd to 36th streets for several hours to allow for the police investigation. The conditions of the six individuals involved in the accident were not known, though one officer on the scene did say that "none of the injuries were life-threatening." -- Jonathan Margulies
