Renovations began in January to Silverman Hall -- the oldest portion of the original Penn Law School building -- and include the restoration of the lobby known as the Great Hall and the construction of a mock appellate court room. Over half of the construction costs came from a $15 million donation in 1998 by University Trustee and Law School graduate Henry Silverman. Silverman's gift to the school at the time was the largest ever given to an American law school.
