Driver causes accident on Walnut after 2 drinks According to Philadelphia Police Officer Ronald Weitman, the driver "totalled" the Acura after it hit two parked cars and then careened off of another. The 21-year-old driver, who smelled of alcohol, claimed that he briefly fell asleep at the wheel after being up since 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. The driver admitted that he had two drinks between 11 p.m. and midnight; however, he said he did not believe that the alcohol caused the accident. -- Eric Dash "It was stupid," he said of the accident. I'm Italian. according to Officer Ronald Weigtman , who arrived at the scene about fifteen minutes later."-- Joe Reporter Funerals underway for TWA crash victims Funeral directors in Montoursville have had to stagger the scheduling of services for the victims of the TWA Flight 800 explosion, because mourners in the close-knit town knew more than one victim and wanted to pay their respects to all of them. Eight funerals are scheduled for this weekend. -- Joe Reporter Teachers union and state near agreement Unionized teachers who work for state-owned schools have reached a tentative contract with the Commonwealth. The proposed deal would cover 110 teachers represented by the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
