University and Philadelphia Police responded to the complaint which was reported at approximately 2:22 p.m. The victim described the suspect as a 5'11", 160-pound black male in his late 20s with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a grey shirt. Theft ·July 26 -- A female University student reported that she awoke at approximately 8:32 a.m. to find a man in her second-floor bedroom at the Delta Phi house at 3627 Locust Walk. The suspect fled with a stereo and speakers. The victim described the thief as a 5'11", 160-pound black male wearing a baseball cap, a flannel shirt and dirty blue jeans. ·July 23 -- A contractor reported the theft of a medical chest valued at $125 from an unsecured construction site at Gimbel Gymnasium at 37th and Walnut streets.The theft took place sometime between 3 p.m. July 22 and 9 a.m. July 23. ·July 23 -- Staff members at the Gap reported that a man entered the store at 3423 Walnut street and left with 45 shirts without paying. Store employees reported the incident at approximately 1:05 p.m. and described the thief as a balding black male with a dark complexion, wearing yellow shorts and a red fanny pack. According to witnesses, the suspect fled the scene in an older model blue station wagon with an "I Love Dalmations" bumper sticker on the back. Theft of Auto ·July 28 -- Officers Ray Rodman and Dominic DiLorenzo of the University Police's Special Response Team observed a man tampering with the ignition of a vehicle parked outside 4218 Spruce Street at approximately 10:42 p.m. The suspect left the area in the vehicle and was stopped by a marked police car and then arrested on the 4700 block of Brown Street after a pursuit on foot. The suspect and the owner of the automobile were transported to the Philadelphia Police Department's Southwest Detectives bureau for questioning. The suspect's name has not been released due to his juvenile status. All information was obtained from University Police. -- Ginny Dorsey
