To the Editor: Honor and integrity aside, is using one of these papers really worth the risk and the trouble? You jeopardize your graduate school admission, your grade point average and your place at Penn. And don't think you won't be caught -- professors and TAs know about these companies and Internet sites and how to distinguish an honest paper from one that came "direct from the factory." For those of you in the University community who wouldn't even know where on the Internet to look for these "quick fixes," just try the DP Classifieds. I recall last semester around exam time two different firms advertising their research papers (a little late for the honest student's use). I sincerely hope that this year, the DP does a better job of exhibiting integrity by refusing to accept advertisements from these companies. Kevin Hodges University Honor Council Chair Wharton '00
