We, at the DP, acknowledge poor judgment in running a photograph last week. When we fail to live up to this charge, we need to acknowledge our errors in an attempt to correct any mistakes and maintain our credibility with our readers. In last Thursday's DP, a front-page story entitled "Robbery suspect worked at nearby Uni-Mart" stated that Chester Beckett, a Uni-Mart employee, was arrested for his suspected involvement in the February 6 robbery of Baskin Robbins. Above the headline, we ran a photo of the inside of the Uni-Mart where Beckett worked. However, as noted in the caption, the Uni-Mart employee behind the counter in the photo was not Chester Beckett, but a Uni-Mart employee not related to the robbery. We fear those who did not read the caption carefully may have incorrectly assumed the Uni-Mart employee pictured was in fact the robbery suspect. It was an error in judgement on our part to run the photo of the totally unrelated Uni-Mart employee. In realizing our mistake, we would like to extend our apologies to the pictured Uni-Mart employee and to our readers.
