The Daily Pennsylvanian

Kudos

To University President Judith Rodin for announcing a master plan that will revitalize campus while providing students with better academic and residential facilities and more stores. To Public Safety Managing Director Thomas Seamon and Director of Operations Maureen Rush for achieving many of the primary goals in a recently released master plan for campus security. Announcing the construction of a new headquarters at 40th and Chestnut streets and hiring Spectaguard to coordinate all campus security instead of various companies. To Sensormatic Security Corporation for providing the University with a comprehensive state-of-the-art security system. To the 40th Street Action Team, for one of the fastest construction jobs on campus with beautiful results and creating a safer area to walk in at night. To the Quakers men's basketball team for scoring 100 points against Lehigh, and allowing fans to redeem their ticket stubs for free cheesesteaks. To the wrestling team for winning the Ivy League and Eastern conference championships, putting the University in the national spotlight. To Wharton School of Business and the Law School for creating a joint-degree program giving students the opportunity to complete both programs sooner. It will also attract more students to the University. To President Bill Clinton and presidential candidate Ross Perot for realizing that the student vote is crucial and speaking on campus the week before the elections. To administrators for presenting several ideas to improve the University that will hopefully make Penn the best higher education institution in 25 years.
