Seniors try to impress scouts at pro day

Four Penn football seniors showed off their skills Wednesday afternoon to several professional scouts.
Tight end Luke Nawrocki, offensive lineman Greg Van Roten, running back/defensive back Matt Hamscher and linebacker Erik Rask all participated in an NFL Pro Day at Franklin Field.
The events were structured exactly the same as last month’s NFL Combine.
Nawrocki told Penn Athletics that there were several personal bests between the four athletes. They participated in skill tests including the vertical leap, broad jump and 40-yard dash.
In addition to NFL scouts — including those from the Philadelphia Eagles — agents and scouts from the Canadian Football League were in attendance.
Nawrocki said earlier this week that the expectation is not necessarily to be chosen in the NFL Draft in late April, but hopefully to sign undrafted with a team shortly after.
“Now we’ve got about a month of waiting,” Nawrocki told Penn Athletics. “We’ll see what happens with the NFL Draft, and after that free agency opens up. We’re talking to some teams right now so after that we’ll see who’s interested and hope to get invited to a camp and show them what we have.”
For now, it’s just a waiting game for the four NFL hopefuls.
