The clock finally struck midnight on the women’s golf team’s Cinderella season.
After clinching their first ever Ivy league title, the Quakers made history with their first appearance in postseason play since becoming a varsity program in 2000.
But at the conclusion of play last Saturday at the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship West Regional, Penn found itself in unfamiliar territory: last place.
After finishing each round of competition with the highest team score, the Red and Blue finished the three-day tournament at the bottom of the 24-team field, over 100 strokes behind first-place Arizona.
Sophomore Tiffany Cheung and freshman Isabel Han — both first team All-Ivy selections — were the top two finishers for the Quakers, tying for 96th place overall.
Meanwhile, the men’s golf team will have its first representation in postseason play since 2007 as sophomore Scotty Williams found out Saturday that he will be one of the five individuals competing at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship Regionals held at Yale May 20-22.
