This weekend, men's soccer started its season with a win, women's finished with its third straight tie, and field hockey fell to tough competition. 

The first week of classes is marked by fall sports both on the road and on familiar home ground.

This summer was a busy one for Penn Athletics, as three coaches resigned and one retired from coaching altogether.

Penn women's soccer is in the first steps of building a formidable team under the new direction of Dr. Krissy Turner, as she leads the Quakers in her first year as the head coach of the Penn program.

This year notes an exciting prospect of tracking progress in each team; whether they wish to forget poor records and begin on a blank slate, or build upon winning momentums of last fall.

Only weeks after competing in Georgia for the NCAA Division I Championships, Fallon returned to train with the Athens Bulldogs Swim Club through the summer.

Thomas, one of 577 nominees and one of more than 240 Division I athletes, was the first transgender woman to win an NCAA Division I Championship title. 

The six Penn athletes all traveled to Italy on July 19 to begin final preparations for their individual events in the rowing championship.

As a couple of the teams compete for Ivy League and NCAA titles, here's a look at the best seniors on each of Penn's spring sports rosters.

Numerous Olympians had standout performances at the Penn Relays, including two-time Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin, who broke a meet record.

Kowalski wins the award after earning honorable mention All-Ivy for her final Quaker season, and for acting as a writer for DP Sports all four years of her time at Penn.

Amongst a star-studded event schedule featuring Olympic gold medalists and an NFL wide receiver, the Quakers shone through with wins on the final day of the Penn Relays.

In a bittersweet moment for the departing seniors, the underclassmen have picked up the enthusiasm of the Penn Relays to revive tradition.
