The Quakers finished in third place after four days of competition at the Ivy League Championships at Brown with 1120.5 points.  

As winter teams aim to finish their seasons on a strong note, spring teams strive for a good start to theirs. Here’s a look at the key competitions this weekend.

After four days of competition, Penn finished fifth with 865.5 points and won two individual titles at DeNunzio Pool.

The stakes have never been higher this winter for Penn track, swimming, and gymnastics. 

For most collegiate swimmers, senior year marks the end of their swimming careers. But for Andrew, things might just be getting started, as he has a serious shot at one day making the United States Olympic team.

Senior Erin is in her last year as a swimmer for Penn, but she is now passing the baton to her freshman sister Katie Kiely.

With increased blood flow, cupping is thought to help reduce muscle tension and promote cell repair – functions that serve swimmers well with their high level of physical exertion. 

The Jamaican native, who has 2020 Tokyo goals alongside his Penn career, now holds Jamaican national records in three events: the 200-yard individual medley, 200 backstroke, and 200 butterfly. 

Penn swimming wrapped up dual meet season with a sweep of Division II West Chester on Saturday.

It is going to be a busy weekend for Penn athletics with the track, squash, swimming, and gymnastics teams all in action.

Penn swimming and diving made the trip up to Cambridge, Mass. to compete against Ivy League foes Harvard and Brown this Saturday, but left with just one win between them.

The men swept the Big Green and the Bulldogs by scores of 227-73 and 191-109, respectively. On the other side, the women clinched an important win against Dartmouth by a score of 161.5-131.5 but fell to Yale, 237-63.

After three days of competition, the men placed second with 728 points while the women finished with 288 points in fifth place. 

In this week's edition of Is Stat So?, Penn men's squash continued its hot start, wrestling saw production from several freshmen, and school records were broken by athletes on track and field.

For their final meet of 2018, the Quakers will take on Tennessee, Duke, Penn State, Denver, and Carson-Newman at the Tennessee Invitational this week.

In this week's edition of Is Stat So?, men's and women's basketball teams had rebounding totals at opposite ends of the spectrum, football beat the spread, and wrestling's freshmen continue to step up. 

In the first of three Ivy League tri-meets this season, the Quakers enjoyed a bounty of top-three finishes in Ithaca, N.Y. The men split their matchups, while the women lost to both teams.
