The University’s Climate Action Plan has been met with much praise since it was unveiled two weeks ago, but, like everything, there’s always room for improvement.

Elections for the freshman Class Board and the freshman members of the Undergraduate Assembly passed with no violations yesterday. Freshmen could vote online until Friday at 5 p.m.

This fall, the Nominations and Elections Committee has counted a total of 55 freshmen running for either the Class Boards or the Undergraduate Assembly. 15 of the 55 are running for both branches.

At Sunday’s Undergraduate Assembly meeting — the first this semester — the group passed a proposal to give one of its nine UC seats to the Nominations and Elections Committee, giving the NEC a total of seven seats.

As part of a new Undergraduate Assembly initiative, Penn Dining agreed to supply free boxed breakfasts for observant Muslims during Ramadan, which started on Aug. 21 and will end Saturday.




Student government steps up recruitment efforts

When it comes to recruiting freshmen, collaboration is key. In fact, many executive members of the six Penn Student Government branches have agreed that an increase in inter-branch collaboration will be key this year in recruiting freshman additions.
