In this week's edition of Is Stat So?, scoreless streaks were extended for Penn's two soccer teams, running backs kept the ball moving, and defenses came up strong.

My story is different from most. While I never wanted to face it, I think it is time that I attempt to embrace my past and allow these last few months at Penn to redefine who I am. 

Inspired by the 76ers’ arrival on Tuesday, The Daily Pennsylvanian did some research to determine the best athletes to compete on Penn’s campus.  

In total, the junior tailback tallied 163 rushing yard and three touchdowns, and even added 23 more through the air, nearly eclipsing the same 200-yard threshold that he smashed last season.

It is still too early to know just how good the defense is going to be, but these first couple of games should be leaving Quakers fans optimistic.

Although the Quakers couldn’t find a way to put the ball in the back of the net in their 0-0 draw against Ivy rival Harvard, there were moments that reminded onlookers of what this promising Penn team is capable of.

After starting slow in a tightly contested first half, Penn football's offense woke up in the second half to take down Lehigh, 30-10.

On Friday, for the 18th consecutive year, Penn volleyball opened its Ivy League season against the Princeton Tigers. And for the second year, the Quakers were swept in three straight sets.

For the third time this season, the Quakers ended a contest in a 0-0 tie, this time against Marist. After 110 minutes, the Quakers and Red Foxes had to settle for a point a piece.

The Quakers took down Cornell, 16-7, in a showdown between the only two Ancient Eight teams in the Collegiate Sprint Football League.

On the heels of last week's 54-21 win over Mansfield, Penn looks to build off its momentum Friday night as it welcomes Cornell, the only other Ivy League team in the Collegiate Sprint Football League, to Franklin Field for its home opener.

On Saturday, Penn starts its quest for an Ivy League championship against Harvard. Currently on a four-game win streak, the Red and Blue are playing their best soccer in years.

Back in April, Iain Braddak was brought on board as the Quakers’ new head coach, filling the void left by Katie Schumacher-Cawley after she left for Penn State. 

Penn men’s soccer is no stranger to hard-fought games. Four of the Quakers’ first five matches this season have gone to overtime, with two of those ending in double overtime draws.

Adapting to a coaching change can be one of the hardest tasks for college athletes. The relationship a player built with their old coach might be completely different from the relationship they build with their new coach.

Daniela Fornaciari, Kylie Kulinski, Margaret Planek, and Carmina Raquel have all been playing significant roles for the Quakers, and they have not let their inexperience hold them back.

Last Saturday, the Quakers comfortably defeated Bucknell 34-17 in the team’s season opener at Franklin Field.
