On March 11, Penn women's basketball upset four-time defending champion Princeton to win the Ivy title. The team finished the regular season 22-6 and 12-2 in Ivy play, clinching an NCAA bid. It was the Quakers third Ivy championship and their first in 10 year.

After falling to Princeton in last year’s season finale, Pennwas “a team to look out for” in the Ivy League. And a year later, the Quakers are looking to be that team to look out for once again, but this time on the national stage, taking on Texas this Sunday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Junior second baseman Vanessa Weaver has contributed significantly this year, chipping in seven hits in Penn’s first 11 games.

After a spring training trip filled with ups and downs, the Quakers are looking to shine a little Florida sun onto the diamond in their last week of games before Ivy League play begins. On March 19, Penn (4-7) will take on Lehigh (8-10) in a doubleheader at 3 PM at home.
