NEW HAVEN, Conn. Nov. 17 - The 124th edition of "The Game" between Harvard and Yale on the gridiron - and this year's de facto Ivy championship game - was supposed to be one for the ages. Too bad someone forgot to give the Crimson the memo.

John McCain's "Straight Talk Express" is making a pit stop at Penn. The Republican presidential candidate and Arizona senator will address students in Zellerbach Theatre tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. in a town hall-style meeting. The event, sponsored by the Penn College Republicans, will also feature remarks by Utah governor Jon Huntsman and former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge.

In light of Monday's sexual assault and an incident of indecent exposure by an AlliedBarton security guard, the Penn Women's Center hosted an information session on sexual violence yesterday afternoon. A panel of campus safety experts addressed two students about available resources and campus security policy changes.

Do you know what you're uploading? When Penn launched Ruckus at the beginning of last year, the University was aiming to stop students from illegally downloading. But are students actually aware of the dangers of illegal uploading? Not really, officials at the University of Michigan say.

The University will implement a series of initiatives to supplement security on and around campus, officials announced in an e-mail to the University community late Thursday night. The new measures include additional police overtime hours, increased lighting, new security cameras and three new transit stops on the boundaries of campus.

Don't forget about class segregation To the Editor: With recent discussion in the The Daily Pennsylvanian's pages about DuBois House, let's not forget that just across Walnut Street, the University is building student housing that promises to be truly segregated.

There are no Ivy League title implications. There are no personal vendettas. There are no record-chasers and no storylines. But there is pride. Neither Penn nor Cornell will be playing for much when the Big Red come to Franklin Field tomorrow. Both teams sit at 2-4, tied for fifth place and a far cry from relevance in the Ancient Eight.

After dealing with GREs and job recruiters, students who graduate from Williams College will now have one less post-graduation concern. Williams, one of the top liberal-arts colleges in the country, announced earlier this month that it is replacing all loans with grants for students applying for financial aid.

It's the end of the line for the Octobus. The University believes that ridership on last month's Octobus trial was too low to merit a permanent service, despite optimism from the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly. The 13-seat evening-shuttle service, which ran every 30 to 45 minutes between campus and Center City, attracted up to 80 riders an evening.

Some things have changed from last year. Others stayed the same. Just like last year, the path to the Ivy League title won't run through Philadelphia. But unlike last season's muddied title-sharing between Yale and Princeton, this year's Ivy championship race will produce an unambiguous winner by Saturday evening.

With the Ivy League trophy already on its mantle, the Penn women's soccer team is ready for its close-up on the national stage. The Quakers' second season begins this afternoon in Morgantown, W. Va., where the Red and Blue will take on James Madison of the Colonial Athletic Association in the first round of the NCAA College Cup.

Before the season began, Penn women's basketball coach Pat Knapp said that somebody would step up on offense to replace the scoring void left after the Quakers graduated their top three scorers last year. After chipping in 46 points in the team's two games this season, that person appears to be Carrie Biemer.

Thanksgiving may be around the corner, but smokers and their allies weren't going cold turkey at the Great American Smokeout health fair and information expo. Research shows smokers are most successful at kicking the habit when they have positive support, which event organizers hoped to instill in attendees.

As Penn continues to discuss changes to its hiring practices, the possibility of a self-disclosure question for faculty has the University treading in uncharted waters.

It was already a busy week for Cornell wide receiver Shane Kilcoyne. With exams and a game against Dartmouth coming up that Saturday in late October, the last thing Kilcoyne expected was the news that raging wildfires had come within five miles of engulfing his home in San Diego.

After just two games, the men's basketball team realizes that wins will not come as easily as they did last season. "Our seniors bailed us out at times [last year]," guard Mike Kach said. "This season we don't have that individual talent. We need to play hard as a team every minute.
