Penn track and field is bound to have a record-breaking season, and senior Nia Akins is shaping up to be a large part of that.

In this week's edition of Is Stat So?, Kayla Padilla continues to be a force on the court, swimming races past the competition, and Evan Lee set a program record in the heptathlon.

This weekend, Penn men and women’s track spread some early holiday joy with high individual finishes from both teams at the Navy Invitational.

As part of Penn Athletics’ Game Onward Campaign, Penn launched the Penn Track & Field and Cross Country Campaign for Excellence on Wednesday. 

Penn track saw not one, not two, but three athletes travel this summer to Costa Rica to don the red, white, and blue at the Under 20 Pan American Games.

Though adapted for different use over the years, Franklin Field always was and always will be about one thing: track and field. 

At the USA Track & Field U20 Outdoor Championships, which took place in Miramar, FL, Mahama claimed the top spot in the hammer throw with a score of 65.66m.

11 Quakers traveled to Austin, TX for the NCAA Championships, which spanned four days, from Wednesday to Saturday. 

With a record-breaking team of ten athletes, five of whom are the first Quakers to qualify for their events, Penn track and field is geared up for the NCAA Championship this week.

A program record ten athletes from Penn track and field have advanced from the NCAA Preliminaries to the Championships, which will take place in Austin, Texas from June 5 to 8. 

This weekend, 27 members of Penn track and field will travel to Jacksonville, FL. for the NCAA Preliminaries.

In their last meet before the NCAA preliminaries next weekend, Penn track had strong performances at the ECAC & IC4A Championships.

With the latest win has come a slew of conference awards, which were announced for both men’s and women’s track on Wednesday. 

This weekend, Penn women’s track captured its second consecutive Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championship, the first time the team has gone back-to-back in the competition since 1985-86.

Despite all of the hype surrounding the professional and top high school athletes at the Penn Relays, junior Nia Akins dominated her events to earn widespread recognition.

With marquee events taking place on each day of the meet, there were many unforgettable moments throughout the weekend.
