Every undergraduate class at Penn has something that sets it apart from the rest. The Class of 2020 had the highest yield rate of any incoming class, the Class of 2019 definitely contains all of the smartest and most attractive students at Penn, and the Class of 2018 is pretty good too! Now, the Class of 2021 finally has some bragging rights on campus. Penn's freshman class had the highest number of virginities preserved during NSO– ever.

Looking back on my first semester, I remember that it could not have started any better. My mother flew the 22 hours from Singapore with me to Philadelphia and we set up my room in New College House together. Penn’s campus looked majestic — walls dressed in a cloak of green, and aged arches caught in the golden rays of sunlight.

After struggling alone with the news of a family member’s illness and adjustment to life at Penn, College sophomore Natasha Cheung decided to visit Counseling and Psychological Services for the first time this January. She set up weekly appointments and saw her counselor regularly. Things got better — until summer came.

"We STEM boyz," a group chat of Penn rising seniors, has achieved the hard, but far from impossible. All of its members had the fortune of landing prestigious internships in their careers of choice for this summer. We were honored to be granted interview time with three of their most successful members, but surprised to find that all three admitted to feelings of intense jealousy over their friends' internship experiences.

Pasta: it's pretty much the only food you ever cook, especially if we're gonna count ramen noodles. Additionally, there are dozens of cookbooks in the world, maybe more. And they have one thing in common: a lot of recipes that are not pasta. Naturally, we went out and found some cookbooks that contain nothing but recipes that are pasta.

On May 13, an article in The Daily Pennsylvanian discussed my intention to create a conversation over alumni weekend about President Trump’s association with the University, by wearing and offering pins that said “UPenn: Denounce Trump.” The online commentary mostly deplored my action, calling button bearers “snowflakes” and “adult children." One said, “Most universities would be PROUD.” They deserve a response.

On Thursday, June 1st, Penn Athletics lost a legendary member of its community. Former Penn student athlete and basketball coach, Jack McCloskey, the General Manager and architect of the legendary “Bad Boys” Pistons, died at the age of 91 after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

Jack McCloskey, the former Penn basketball player and coach who went on to have a long and successful career in the NBA, died Thursday in Savannah, Georgia at the age of 91.
