I knew that life could be challenging. I had to ask my parents twice for a Canada Goose jacket before they bought me one in middle school. I actually had to pay someone to complete my application to Penn, even though I’m a double legacy and the application is just a formality. But last Wednesday, I experienced the true difficulty of a world set against me. I ordered a vanilla latte at Pret, and I had to wait eight minutes before they gave me my drink.

Just after 2006 College graduate Conor Lamb won a close special election in the mostly-Republican Pennsylvania 18th district, he launched a campaign for reelection in Pennsylvania’s newly defined 17th district. If he is selected as the Democratic candidate during May's primaries, he will officially be up for reelection for the congressional seat in the 17th district.

Since on-campus recruiting began its shift to the fall from the spring approximately two years ago, trends in Penn study abroad programs have shifted too. Data shows that there has been an increase in students studying abroad in the spring semester and in less conventional study abroad programs over the summer and during school breaks.

The springtime festival of Pesach (“Passover”) begins sundown this Friday evening. From Los Angeles to Tel Aviv, Scarsdale, N.Y. to Namutumba, Uganda, Jews around the globe will gather in each other’s homes to eat symbolic foods, drink four cups of wine, and to retell the saga of our people’s exodus from slavery in Egypt toward freedom in the Promised Land.

Penn’s Fels Institute of Government announced that it will be restructuring its Master of Public Administration program and will not be accepting applicants for the 2018-2019 academic year. Students and alumni have expressed confusion about the changes, and many say that Fels has not been transparent about the restructuring process.
