Crime Log | Sept. 21 — Sept. 27

DUI:

Sept. 23 — An unaffiliated male, 27, of the 300 Block of E. Essex Ave., was taken into custody after police observed his vehicle swerving around 40th and Walnut streets at 2:15 a.m.

Sept. 21 — An unaffiliated 37-year-old male of Ralston Ave. was arrested after police pulled over his car and found marijuana in his vehicle at 5:15 p.m.

Robbery:

Sept. 26 — An unaffiliated 25-year-old male said while he was walking down S. 42nd St., an unknown suspect struck him in the head and took his iPhone at 11:30 p.m.

Fraud:

Sept. 21 — A male student reported that a juvenile suspect asked to borrow his cell phone at 34th and Walnut streets and subsequently ran away with it at 8:15 p.m.

Assault:

Sept. 23 — A male complainant was involved in a minor altercation with five known individuals at the 3900 Block of Locust Walk at 3:00 a.m.

Sept. 22 — An unaffiliated 32-year-old male of the 5700 Block of Lansdowne Avenue was arrested for refusing to pay cab fare and assaulting the cab driver in front of the police at the 3900 Block of Walnut Street at 12:45 a.m.

Disorderly conduct:

Sept. 27 — An unaffiliated male, 24, of the 2200 Block of S. 21st Street, was arrested for fighting on the 100 Block of S. 39th Street at 1:45 a.m.

Sept. 26 — An unaffiliated female, 32, of the 4800 Block of Woodland Avenue, was arrested for trespassing in private spaces of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and causing a disturbance at 7:30 a.m.

Theft:

Between the periods of Sept. 21 and Sept. 27, there were five thefts from buildings, seven bike thefts, two retail thefts that resulted in two arrests and two other thefts.
