In addition to winning three Ivy League titles in four years with Penn and setting the Quakers' all-time career three-pointers record, senior guard Tim Begley now has one more honor to add to his resume. The captain was named Ivy League Player of the Year after leading the league in assists and finishing fifth in scoring and eighth in rebounding. Begley set league-highs this year with his 13 assists against Lafayette (also a school record) and his eight three-pointers in a win over La Salle in which he scored a career-high 29 points. But Begley's 2004-05 season may be best remembered by the Palestra crowd for two specific three-pointers: a desperation heave while falling with the shot clock winding down against La Salle and his banked trifecta that gave the Quakers a four-point lead in overtime during their comeback victory over Princeton. On the women's side, senior guard Karen Habrukowich was named as a first-team All-Ivy selection after leading the Quakers with 13.1 points per game. While Habrukowich was the only member of the women's team (15-12, 8-6 Ivy) to earn a spot on the All-Ivy rosters, the men's team (20-8, 13-1) placed three more on the squads. Sophomore guard Ibby Jaaber, who set the Ivy League single-season and single-game steals records, made the second team, while sophomore forwards Steve Danley and Mark Zoller were named as honorable mentions. Joining Begley on the four-guard first team are Brown senior Jason Forte, Yale senior Edwin Draughan, Cornell junior Lenny Collins and Harvard junior Matt Stehle, who is the only forward on the first team.
