3 burglaries reported in last two days

Nearly $7,000 in items stolen from apartment, College Hall, frat house

Three burglaries committed against the University and affiliated individuals totaling nearly $7,000 have been reported to the Penn Police in the past two days.

Police have not made arrests in any of the cases.

Two of the three incidents occurred during spring break, but the complainants did not notify police immediately.

Over the weekend, one or more burglars entered College Hall -- located at 3450 Woodland Walk -- and broke into at least four offices on the second and third floors.

Approximately $3,200 worth of electronic equipment was removed from the offices.

The stolen property included at least one computer monitor and tower.

The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m. Monday. Police have no suspects and investigations are ongoing.

A female affiliated with the University reported that she left her apartment for two hours Sunday evening and returned at around 10:15 p.m. to find some of her personal belongings missing.

According to the complainant, someone broke into the apartment and removed a gold bracelet valued at $500 as well as $5 worth of quarters that were openly visible.

Police have not identified any suspects but noted that the complainant found her apartment locked and secured when she returned.

The third break-in happened at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house -- located at 3900 Spruce Street -- between March 5 and March 10.

Complainants reported at around 8:45 p.m. Monday that burglars had entered the residence by breaking a glass pane in the door.

A 50-inch television screen -- valued at $2,900 -- was removed from the house.

It appeared as though the criminals attempted to move other electronic equipment but decided to leave it at the back door of the fraternity house, facing Delancey Street.

Police do not have any suspects in this case.

Currently, there is no information linking the three burglaries.
