W. Soccer's Roe, Cross honored by Ivy League After notching her first career goal against St. Louis on Friday and helping Penn shut out its opponents over four overtime periods over the weekend, Penn soccer defender Cathy Roe was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
The Seattle native received the honor for the first time in her collegiate career.
The Ivy League also honored Penn junior Katy Cross this week, naming her to the All-Ivy Honor Roll.
And with good reason.
Cross connected on all three of the Quakers' goals Sunday, moving her into first place on the Penn all-time scoring list with 73 points.
With her performance, she also broke Andrea Callaghan's Penn record for career goals, as Cross now has notched 29 goals in her 39 career games.
Cross is the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year and holds program records in single-season points (26) and single-season goals scored (14).
Thus far this season, she has notched three goals and has seven points.

Six football games to hit television this season
Predicted to finish fourth in the Ivy League, the 2002 Penn football team surprised many of its opponents with a 7-0 record and a championship.
Clearly the television networks noticed, too.
Comcast SportsNet, CN8 and the YES Network each signed on to broadcast a combined six of Penn's 10 games this season, beginning Sept. 27 at Lehigh.
In addition to traveling to Bethlehem, Pa., Comcast SportsNet will telecast the Quakers' trip to Columbia on Oct. 18. The Football Network is also offering a two-hour tape delay of the Penn-Columbia game.
CN8 will broadcast Penn's games against Yale on Oct. 25 and Harvard on Nov. 15. The network will also provide satellite coverage for the Nov. 8 Princeton game.
All three of Quakers' CN8 games will be able to be seen on the full network, from Boston to Baltimore.
The YES Network will round out Penn's television coverage when they cover the Quakers' final game, against Cornell, on Nov. 22.
