Field Hockey welcomes La Salle to Franklin Field

The Penn field hockey team will look to continue its success in intra-city competition this weekend with a game against La Salle at Franklin Field tomorrow at noon.

The Quakers (2-4) have already earned one win against cross-town rival Saint Joseph's on Sept. 8. Penn knocked off the Hawks, 1-0, behind sophomore forward Cara Calahan's goal. The game-winner was Calahan's first collegiate goal.

The Red and Blue enter tomorrow's contest after dropping a 2-0 decision against No. 6 Penn State Wednesday in State College, Pa.

Tomorrow's game will be the first action the Explorers have seen in over a week. La Salle (5-2) last took the field Sept. 19 against the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The Explorers claimed a 3-1 victory in the matchup, which was played at Temple.

Junior Liz Lorelli is currently the Quakers' leading scorer, having found the back of the cage five times and dishing out one assist on the year for a total of 11 points.

After the La Salle game, Penn will welcome Villanova to Franklin Field on Wednesday night.
