Approximately fifteen youths were stopped by University Police last night after the 7-Eleven convenience store on 42nd and Walnut streets was allegedly robbed.

"We're investigating a call for robbery," said Lieutenant Albert Sulpizio. "There were about 15 kids stopped."

Sulpizio added at around midnight that there were no arrests "as of yet."

The incident allegedly occurred between 11 and 11:15 p.m. Police officers stopped the youths and lined them up for questioning on 40th Street between Walnut and Locust streets for about 45 minutes before releasing them.

Because the incident allegedly involved minors and occurred after 10:30 p.m., Philadelphia's curfew laws are also a factor in the case, according to Sulpizio.

The police declared the 7-Eleven convenience store a crime scene as of midnight, when several police officers investigated the location and interviewed witnesses.

College freshman Faye Ibers said that she heard the commotion on 40th Street from her dormitory room in Gregory College House.

"We heard them yelling, 'Get down, get down,'" Ibers said, adding that there were about six police cars at the scene. "They had them all on the floor."

In this article, College freshman Faye Ibars is quoted as saying "They had them all on the floor." Later, Ibars clarified that she only saw one individual on the floor.
